Job summary

Showtime Consulting Pty Ltd in Australia is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and operate secure enterprise infrastructure across on‑premises and cloud environments within Defence and government contexts. Join a team delivering mission‑critical defence and national security infrastructure.

You will work with virtualization (VMware/Hyper‑V), servers, storage, Windows and Linux, networking, and container platforms, delivering hardened, compliant infrastructure

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on infrastructure engineering across large enterprise environments.
• Experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V virtualization.
• Experience supporting enterprise server, storage, and SAN infrastructure.
• Strong Windows Server and Linux administration skills.
• Practical networking knowledge including TCP/IP, switching, routing, VPNs, firewalls, and segmentation.
• Experience implementing infrastructure solutions within secure Defence or government environments.
• Exposure to Kubernetes, containers, or container platforms is desirable.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, configure, and maintain secure on‑premises and cloud infrastructure.
• Engineer and support VMware and Microsoft Hyper‑V virtualization environments.
• Configure and maintain Dell server, storage, and SAN infrastructure.
• Administer Windows Server and Linux environments (RHEL/SUSE).
• Support enterprise networking, including switching, routing, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Build and support containerised platforms and related infrastructure services.
• Implement infrastructure hardening, patching, monitoring, and vulnerability remediation.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, OS, network, storage, and performance issues.
