Job summary

Scyne Advisory Pty is seeking an Export Controls Professional to join its Defence practice in Canberra. You will execute the Export Controls Coordinator function for high‑impact Defence projects, coordinating compliance with Australian and international frameworks and advising government stakeholders on secure export strategies.

You will lead regulatory compliance efforts, manage necessary registrations and approvals, and work with partners to uphold public-interest outcomes and APS ethics

Qualifications

• Active AGSVA NV1 clearance is required.
• Extensive experience in export controls within the Australian Defence industry.
• Strong knowledge of Defence Trade Controls Act, ITAR and EAR.
• Proven procurement, commercial management and contract administration experience is advantageous.
• Commitment to public-interest outcomes with ethical, transparent advisory.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Export Controls Coordinator role across Defence projects, ensuring compliance.
• Monitor regulatory changes to Export Controls legislation and inform stakeholders.
• Maintain Export Controls registers, TAPs and NDAs, and manage amendments.
• Review data-sharing proposals and administer Defence Export Controls permits via the MADE portal.
• Engage with IEC, DEC and external stakeholders to secure compliant outcomes.
