Job summary

Penske Australia & New Zealand is seeking a mechanical or electrical trades technician to service Defence compressed air systems at our Garden Island site in Sydney. This full-time, permanent role offers training to become an industry specialist.

You will perform maintenance, diagnose faults, and ensure safe operation of heavy-duty diesel engines and air systems while collaborating with the Defence team. Australian citizenship is required for clearance.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in mechanical or electrical discipline.
• Experience with heavy-duty diesel engines is essential.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to obtain Defence Security Clearance; Australian citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, servicing and repairs on compressed air systems and associated equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
• Inspect, test and assess equipment to ensure reliable operation.
• Support safe operation and ongoing performance of Defence compressed air systems.
• Follow technical procedures, maintenance requirements and site safety standards.
• Collaborate with the Defence Compressed Air Systems Service Team while developing technical expertise.
