The Shadbolt Group is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our Defence team at Garden Island, Sydney. You will perform maintenance, repairs and overhauls on naval and marine equipment, applying fitting expertise to ensure safety and reliability.

You will work with an experienced team, interpreting drawings, conducting testing and ensuring compliance with Defence standards and quality requirements. A current licence and strong teamwork are essential.

Qualificações

• Recognised mechanical trade qualification (e.g., Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade).
• Experience in mechanical maintenance, fitting, repairs and overhauls.
• Knowledge of pumps, valves, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Commitment to safety, quality and teamwork.
• A current driver’s licence.

Responsabilidades

• Maintaining, repairing and overhauling mechanical equipment, including pumps, motors and valves.
• Undertaking mechanical fault-finding, hydraulic and pneumatic work, and shaft alignment.
• Interpreting technical drawings and completing maintenance documentation.

Shadbolt Group is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our Defence team at Garden Island, Sydney. This is an opportunity to work on critical naval and marine equipment, applying your mechanical fitting expertise to maintenance, repairs, overhauls and testing in a high-quality, safety-focused environment.

About the role

You'll undertake hands-on mechanical maintenance, fault-finding, inspection, repair, installation and testing, working alongside an experienced team to support essential Defence operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining, repairing and overhauling mechanical equipment, including pumps, motors and valves.
• Undertaking mechanical fault-finding, hydraulic and pneumatic work, and shaft alignment.
• Interpreting technical drawings and completing maintenance documentation.
• Ensuring work meets Defence, safety and quality requirements.
• Working collaboratively with supervisors, engineers and fellow tradespeople to deliver project outcomes.

What you'll bring:

• A recognised mechanical trade qualification, such as Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Fitting/Turning), or equivalent.

Defence, naval, marine or heavy industrial experience will be highly regarded.

Essential Defence requirements

Australian citizenship is essential. You must also hold, or be eligible to obtain and maintain, the required Defence security clearance (Baseline or NV1, as applicable), and satisfy all site access, medical and screening requirements.
