Job summary

SYPAQ in Canberra seeks a Systems Engineer- Communications to work on a Defence project. The contract runs from 9 November 2026 to 31 December 2027, with an office-based role in Russell, ACT. You will establish Interoperability Assurance Profiles (IAP) and develop a data set for the communications systems used across Integrated Air and Missile Defence. The successful candidate must be an Australian citizen with NV2 clearance; Top-Secret POS Vet is desired.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with Defence Communications and Information Systems.
• Strong stakeholder management and communications skills.
• Project or program management experience in Defence contexts.
• Understanding of Joint and land domain staff processes.
• Knowledge of ADF Ground Based Air Defence Systems and Link-16.

Responsibilities

• Establish Interoperability Assurance Profiles (IAP) for mission data sets.
• Develop data sets for communications across Integrated Air and Missile Defence.
• Collaborate with systems owners and Joint stakeholders to de-risk delivery.
• Identify opportunities to increase system interoperability and resilience.
