Job summary

Amazon Web Services Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Program Manager for Defence, Worldwide Public Sector. You will coordinate end-to-end Defence initiatives, manage timelines, track risks, and ensure alignment with customer outcomes across AWS teams.

The role requires 3+ years of program management experience, familiarity with Australia's defence sector, and the ability to travel interstate up to 10%. This is a dynamic role in a fast-growing public sector cloud transformation program.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of program or project management experience.
• Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements.
• Experience working in or directly supporting Australia's defence or national security sector.
• Experience supporting program strategy, end to end delivery and customer and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Program Management: End-to-end coordination of Defence initiatives from concept to delivery, tracking dependencies and timelines.
• Project Support: Delivery support with schedule adherence and quality across workstreams.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate activities with Defence stakeholders and prepare briefing materials.
• Program Coordination: Prepare materials for weekly alignment meetings and cross-team coordination sessions.
• Milestone Tracking: Track progress with technical delivery teams and update schedules.
• Tracking & Reporting: Maintain project trackers and provide updates on progress and blockers.
• Risk Monitoring: Monitor risks and elevate issues per protocols.
• Process Improvement: Contribute to efficiency and delivery quality.
