Job summary

LaserBond is seeking a senior Business Development Manager to grow presence across Defence and Aerospace markets in Australia. Lead market strategy, open doors within complex supply chains and convert opportunities into profitable growth.

You’ll collaborate with engineering teams to position advanced surface engineering capabilities, build strategic partnerships and drive sustainable revenue while managing risk and delivering value to defence and aerospace customers.

Qualifications

• Proven success in developing markets and winning complex B2B opportunities.
• Experience in Defence, Aerospace, advanced manufacturing, engineering or related sectors.
• Experience with tenders, proposals, pricing strategy, contract negotiations and commercial risk management.
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills with a track record of profitable growth.
• Ability to navigate complex procurement processes and engage with technical specialists and senior executives.
• Strong planning, pipeline management and CRM capabilities; willing to travel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute market strategies to identify priority customers and growth opportunities.
• Build pipeline and secure opportunities with defence organisations, OEMs, prime contractors and tier suppliers.
• Coordinate bid/no-bid assessments, tender responses, proposals and pricing strategies.
• Lead contract negotiations and manage commercial risks with delegated authority and legal review.
• Build trusted relationships across engineering, procurement, program management and executives.
• Collaborate with internal teams to develop commercially valuable solutions that meet customer needs.
• Deliver revenue growth while protecting margins and developing long-term partnerships.
