Job summary

Paspaley Pearling Company in Darwin invites you to join our Deckhand team on our Pearl Farm & Fleet operations. This casual-to-full-time role offers rosters of 2 weeks on/1 week off or a 2–6 month liveaboard contract, with meals and accommodation provided.

You will perform maintenance of shell and infrastructure, assist in shell husbandry, and removal of marine growth, working in remote coastal environments.

Qualifications

• Must have a consistent working history in manual labour, marine or agricultural environments.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical, fitness test and drug/alcohol screen.
• National police clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Comfortable working in remote areas and living in close quarters.

Responsibilities

• Removal of marine growth from pearl shell.
• Husbandry of the shell and general shell care.
• Maintenance of the associated infrastructure.

Paspaley Pearling Company are currently looking for Deckhands to join our Pearl Farm & Fleet teams in a casual role.

Our pearling operation is extensive and spans coastal regions from Exmouth, WA around to the north of Darwin, NT. Our pearl farms are positioned amongst some of the world's most spectacular coastline and unique marine environments.

You would be expected to reside in Darwin, Australia and work on a full-time basis. Rosters include 2 weeks on, 1 week off or a 2-6 months liveaboard opportunity.

This is a fantastic opportunity for highly dedicated, reliable, and motivated individuals to join a multifaceted family-owned business that spans across Pearling, Retail, Pastoral and Properties.

Deckhand daily responsibilities:

• Removal of marine growth from pearl shell
