Job summary

Paspaley Group in Broome, Australia is seeking a Deckhand to join full-time on a two weeks on, one week off roster. The role includes living on a mother ship or a land-based schedule, with duties on deck and shell maintenance.

You will remove marine growth from pearl shell, care for the shell, and maintain the related infrastructure on ships and facilities. A strong work ethic, fitness, and Australian work rights are required.

Qualifications

• Australian or NZ citizenship or valid Australian work rights incl. Working Holiday Makers.
• Recent manual labour, marine or agricultural work history.
• Pass pre-employment medical, fitness test and drug/alcohol screen.
• National police clearance or ability to obtain.
• Willing to live/work in remote areas in close quarters.
• Coxswains tickets or related maritime certifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Removal of marine growth from pearl shell.
• Husbandry of the shell and general shell care.
• Maintenance of the associated infrastructure.
