Southern Hills Christian College in Bedfordale, Western Australia, seeks a Dean of Maths and Science to lead Secondary Science and oversee the learning areas, commencing 1 January 2027.

Ideal candidates will hold TRBWA registration, a current WWCC, and a proven record in curriculum leadership and inclusive teaching.

Qualifications

Southern Hills Christian College is a K-12 Christian school in Bedfordale, Western Australia, and is part of the Swan Christian Education Association. Our staff are all committed Christians, and this belief is embedded both explicitly and implicitly in our curriculum and all that we do.

We are seeking a competent and passionate Dean of Maths and Science who can teach Secondary Science to join our team in a full-time, permanent position commencing 1 January 2027.

The Dean of Maths and Science oversees the Learning Areas for Science and Mathematics, providing strategic, instructional, and curriculum leadership. This position would suit an experienced learning area leader or an emerging leader who is passionate about Maths and Science.

Essential Selection Criteria

• Demonstrates a personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and is an active member of a Christian Church, living in accordance with the Association’s Statement of Faith and Educational Objectives.
• A qualified Secondary Science Teacher with a strong understanding of contemporary teaching, learning, assessment and evaluation practices.
• Skilled in differentiating instruction and leveraging technology to meet diverse student needs and enhance learning and administrative outcomes.
• A collaborative team player with excellent communication and relationship-building skills across students, staff, parents and the wider community.
• Committed to professional excellence, positive role modelling and active participation in the life of the College.
• Current Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA) registration and a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to apply.

Desirable Selection Criteria

• To have undertaken formal studies in the area of Christian Education, attend a Christian College or be familiar with relevant books and articles on Christian Education.
• To have experience in the advertised position.
• To have experience in using a digital learning management system as a teaching and learning tool.
