Swan Christian Education Association invites a dedicated Secondary Science Teacher to join Southern Hills Christian College in Bedfordale, WA. This full-time, permanent role begins 1 January 2027 and requires a strong commitment to Christian education and student development.

You will deliver high-quality science instruction, contribute to school life, and uphold the Association's faith-based aims while pursuing ongoing professional development within a supportive community.

Qualifications

• Secondary teaching qualifications with a sound approach to assessment.

• Ability to apply diverse teaching strategies to support student learning.
• Strong communication, teamwork and digital skills and positive relationships.
• Current TRBWA registration and WWCC or willingness to apply.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Provide high-quality Secondary teaching and takeresponsibility for student learning and achievement.
• Model a biblical understanding of Christian Educationaligned with the College’s values, aims and practices.
• Participate enthusiastically in the spiritual, academic,sporting, cultural and social life of the College.
• Remain current in your field through ongoing personal andprofessional development.
• Recognise and respond to differing student abilitiesthrough effective teaching and support.
• Adhere to College policies, procedures and professionalexpectations.

Essential Selection Criteria:

• Demonstrates a personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christand is an active member of a Christian Church, living inaccordance with the Association’s Statement of Faith andEducational Objectives.
• Secondary teaching qualifications and a sound understandingof assessment, evaluation, and effective teachingpractice.
• To demonstrate evidence of personal competence in theirsubject area through the presentation of folio’s workbooks orteaching notes at the interview.
• Ability to apply diverse teaching, learning, and evaluationstrategies to support student learning and achievement.
• Communication, teamwork, and digital skills, with acommitment to positive relationships and Collegeinvolvement.
• Current Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia(TRBWA) registration and a valid Working with Children Check(WWCC) or willingness to apply.

Desirable Selection Criteria:

• To have undertaken formal studies in the area of ChristianEducation, attend a Christian College or be familiar withrelevant books and articles on Christian Education.
• To have experience in the advertised position.
• To have experience in using a digital learning managementsystem as a teaching and learning tool.
