Job summary

Genea is seeking an experienced Full-time Scrub/Anaesthetic Day Surgery Nurse to join our CBD clinic in Sydney. The role focuses on safe and efficient pre, peri and post-operative care within a day-surgery setting.

Responsibilities include patient admission, assisting doctors in the procedure room, recovery care, discharge planning, and safe handling of medications and specimens. AHPRA registration and Working with Children Check are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Experience in Day Surgery or perioperative nursing.
• Experience with gynecological or IVF procedures is preferred.
• Must have strong patient-focused care and frontline communication.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and prepare pre-operative areas.
• Assist doctors in the procedure room with scrubbing and setup.
• Provide safe recovery care and escalate when needed.
• Conduct patient discharge with clear post-operative instructions.
• Handle specimens, medications, antibiotics and blood products safely.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Full time Scrub/Anaesthetic Day Surgery Nurse to join our CBD clinic. The role is responsible for ensuring safe and efficient pre, peri and post-operative care of patients in the Day Surgery.

Duties will include:

• Patient admission, screening and pre-operative preparation
• Assist Doctors with treatment in the procedure room competently
• Provide safe and effective recovery care to patients, escalating for clinical review as indicated
• Patient discharge - assessment of readiness and issue of post-operative instructions and medications
• Safe handling and management of specimens, medications, antibiotics and blood products (where applicable)
• Assist in the day to day activities of the day surgery as required

Qualifications

About You

To be considered for this position you must have previous experience working in a Day Surgery as a Anaesthetic Nurse.

Ideally you will:

• Have experience as a Scrub/Anaesthetic Nurse
• Experience inGynecological procedures or IVF procedures
• Be focused on customer service and patient care, both directly face to face and in a supporting role (telephone, email, etc).
• Be a registered Nurse/Midwife with AHPRA (mandatory)
• Have a working with Children's Check (mandatory)
• Experience in a variety of nursing areas such as, reproductive and female health, and/or infertility (preferable)

Specialized Scrub/Anaesthetic Training

• Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma in Perianaesthetic Nursing
• Graduate Certificate in Perioperative (Scrub/Scout) Nursing or Graduate Certificate in Anaesthesia and Recovery Nursing
• Specialized training courses in anaesthetic techniques, monitoring, and recovery care
• Hospital-based perioperative training programs
