Job summary

The University of Western Australia invites applications for a Database Administrator on a fixed-term, full-time basis for 12 months. The role blends database, cloud and infrastructure expertise to shape UWA's enterprise technology landscape.

You'll review, design and implement database/web architectures (SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle) and contribute to operational standards. Applicants should have tertiary qualifications and strong scripting and cloud skills.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of database and web architectures and integration (SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, WebLogic, IIS).
• Experience planning and executing database/web architecture changes for new implementations.
• Expertise in Linux and Windows OS and cloud services with OS commands and scripting.
• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent competency.
• Self-motivated with a strong willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Review, recommend and implement database and web architectures to support nominated business systems.
• Research and develop solutions to issues related to web architecture, database and application implementations.
• Recommend, design and implement additions and updates to operational standards including procedural and system documentation.
