The University of Western Australia (UWA) is seeking a seasoned database and web architect to join IT Services for a 12-month fixed-term appointment in Perth. The role focuses on reviewing, designing and implementing robust architectures to support key business systems with scalable, secure solutions.

You will leverage extensive experience across SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, WebLogic and IIS, while guiding architecture changes and maintaining operational standards.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of database and web architectures and integration techniques.
• Experience in planning and executing database/web architecture changes.
• Proficient in Linux and Windows OS platforms and cloud services.
• Strong problem analysis, critical thinking, and learning mindset.

Responsibilities

• Review, recommend and implement database and web architectures to support nominated business systems.
• Research and develop solutions to issues related to web architecture, database and application implementations.
• Design and implement additions and updates to operational standards including procedural and system documentation.
