Job summary

Smartgroup is looking for an experienced Database Analyst to join our Infrastructure team in Australia. The role focuses on managing and optimising enterprise data platforms, improving performance, and supporting ongoing cloud transformation initiatives across the organisation.

You will administer SQL Server environments, implement HA/DR strategies, and collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to minimise downtime while driving data platform maturity.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in Database Administration with 5+ years in a similar role.
Advanced T-SQL and SQL Server administration expertise.
Experience with high availability and disaster recovery technologies.
Strong MS data techs: SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, Power BI.

Responsibilities

Monitor and manage internal and external data feeds to ensure reliable data availability.
Administer and maintain database platforms and schemas for secure access.
Provide database performance tuning, automation, scripting and best-practice recommendations.
Plan and implement system upgrades and enhancements for service continuity.
