Job summary

Smartgroup Corporation is seeking an experienced Database Analyst to optimise data platforms, manage database environments, and support cloud transformation initiatives within the IT Infrastructure team. You will focus on reliability, performance, and scalable data solutions across on‑premises and Azure cloud environments.

The role requires 5+ years in database administration, strong T-SQL and SQL Server skills, and experience with Azure SQL Managed Instance, Synapse, and ETL/ESB patterns.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in Database Administration with 5+ years in a similar role.
• Advanced T-SQL and SQL Server administration expertise.
• Experience with high availability and DR technologies (Always On, replication, backup/recovery).
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft data technologies (SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, Power BI).
• Experience with cloud-based databases, especially Azure SQL Managed Instance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage internal/external data feeds for reliability.
• Administer and maintain database platforms and schemas for secure data access.
• Provide performance tuning, automation, and scripting recommendations.
• Plan system upgrades and improvements to boost service continuity.
• Develop implementation plans, scripts, and testing for reliability.
• Collaborate with vendors/stakeholders to minimise downtime and improve platforms.
