The Network is seeking an experienced Enterprise Technology Architect to lead the architecture, design assurance and governance of a large-scale greenfield Microsoft Fabric implementation. You will shape a secure, scalable data platform and influence senior stakeholders across the organisation.

Ideal candidates will have deep Microsoft Fabric expertise, strong enterprise data architecture capabilities and proven governance experience in complex environments.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Technology Architect to lead the architecture, design assurance and governance of a large scale greenfield Microsoft Fabric implementation.

This is a high-impact role for someone who combines deep Microsoft Fabric expertise with broad enterprise data architecture capability. You will define the foundations for a secure, scalable and operationally robust modern data platform, while influencing senior stakeholders and challenging designs against sound architectural principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and design assurance of an enterprise-scale, greenfield Microsoft Fabric environment.
• Define Fabric tenant settings, capacity strategy, domains, workspace structures and DEV, TEST and PROD separation.
• Establish secure, scalable patterns for OneLake, lakehouses, warehouses, connectivity, deployment pipelines, monitoring, resilience, FinOps and operational administration.
• Advise on Fabric product limitations, preview-feature risks and service-specific deployment constraints.
• Define and assure enterprise data architecture, including medallion architecture, data domains, data products and canonical data models.
• Establish source-to-target mapping, schema management, data lifecycle, reconciliation, data quality, lineage and integration patterns.
• Ensure the metadata-driven framework meets production-scale functional and non-functional requirements.
• Develop and govern enterprise architecture artefacts, including Solution Architecture Documents, High-Level Designs, Low-Level Designs and Solution Design Documents.
• Lead or contribute to Architecture Boards and Design Review Forums, providing clear recommendations and risk-based design assurance.
• Conduct requirements analysis and gap assessments, translating business and technical needs into practical architecture decisions.
• Challenge existing designs constructively, ensuring alignment with enterprise architectural principles, security requirements and strategic objectives.
• Build trusted relationships with technical teams, delivery partners and senior business stakeholders.

Ideal Background

• Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise scale Microsoft Fabric implementations, ideally within complex or regulated environments.
• Strong hands‑on understanding of Fabric architecture, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, Power BI, deployment pipelines, capacity management and security.
• Proven modern data platform and enterprise data architecture experience, with a strong grasp of medallion architecture, data domains and data product principles.
• Experience establishing governance, operating models and architectural standards for cloud-based data platforms.
• Strong knowledge of data modelling, metadata management, data quality, lineage, reconciliation and integration patterns.
• Experience creating and reviewing architecture documentation, including SADs, SDDs, HLDs and LLDs.
• Previous exposure to Architecture Boards, Design Review Forums or equivalent governance forums.
• Ability to balance strategic architectural thinking with practical delivery constraints.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and communicate complex concepts clearly.
