Job summary

Perth Airport Pty Ltd in Australia is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to maintain and evolve its Microsoft Fabric Data Platform, ensuring stability, scalability and security to meet growing business needs. You will design and manage data pipelines, storage and compute resources to support analytics, reporting and APIs.

Collaborate with analysts, engineers and business teams, implement data governance and quality standards, monitor costs and performance, and provide training to boost data

Qualifications

• 7+ years designing, building and managing data platforms and data product workloads.
• Strong skills in Python, SQL and cloud-native data integration.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and Data Engineering/Data Science workloads.
• Experience in a critical infrastructure environment is highly desirable.
• Proven experience building resilient data pipelines across ERP, IoT, and SaaS.
• Strong knowledge of data governance, metadata management and data quality frameworks.
• Experience with Agile, ITIL and DevOps.
• Excellent communication across teams and ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Problem-solver who can adapt in a fast-paced environment while maintaining focus and integrity.

Our Technology team is looking for a Data Platform Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and evolving Perth Airport’s Microsoft Fabric Data Platform, ensuring it is stable, reliable, scalable, and secure to meet the business’s growing needs, along with the following:

What you'll do:

About you:

• A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of experience designing, building, and managing data platforms and data product workloads
• Strong skills in Python, SQL and cloud-native data integration
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Fabric + Data Engineering/Data Science workloads
• Experience working within a critical infrastructure environment is highly desirable
• Proven experience building and managing resilient data pipelines across ERP, IoT, and SaaS applications
• Strong knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks
• Experience with Agile, ITIL, and DevOps practices
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate across teams and explain technical concepts clearly
• A problem-solver who can adapt in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining focus and integrity
