Job summary

ALOIS Australia seeks a skilled Data Modeller in Sydney on a Contract/FTC basis. You will develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models and collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable data architectures.

The role requires 6+ years in IT with data modelling techniques, strong SQL, experience with BigQuery on GCP, data warehousing, ETL, and knowledge of data governance, security and compliance.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in data modelling techniques across conceptual, logical, and physical models.
• Experience with database management systems, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
• Knowledge of modern data technologies (NoSQL, data lakes, cloud data solutions).
• Ability to read/write complex SQL and assess results, with stakeholders to model data platforms in GCP BigQuery.

What Role You Will Play In Team

Job description

Proficiency in data modelling techniques, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models.

• Knowledge of database management systems, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
• Experience with modern data technologies, such as NoSQL databases, data lakes, and cloud-based data solutions.
• Experience in reading and writing moderate to complex SQL commands/queries and accurately assessing results.
• Ability to work with the business representatives, data owners, end users, application designers and data architects to model current and new data platforms in GCP Big Query.
• Should be able to define and enforce best practices for BigQuery data modeling experience.
• Strong understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance considerations in GCP.
• Must have a good understanding of various data formats XML, JSON, CSV, Database.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex data‑related challenges.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with data governance frameworks and practices is a plus.
• Relevant certifications in data architecture, database management, or related fields are advantageous.
• 6+ Years of professional experience in IT industry with Data Modelling Techniques and Methodologies is preferred.
