Job summary

Melbourne Water Corporation is seeking an experienced Manager Data Management to shape the data environment from data lake to reporting. You will lead a specialist team, translate strategy into roadmaps, and ensure reliable data for decision-making across the organisation.

You will combine technical depth with people leadership, coaching the team to deliver high-impact outcomes, with a focus on governance, security and trusted analytics. This is a hybrid/ flexible role within Melbourne.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in data management, information technology, analytics, computer science or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience leading data, analytics, BI, data engineering or platform teams.
• Experience managing enterprise data platforms, data warehouses, integration services and BI environments.
• Ability to translate strategy into roadmaps, plans and measurable delivery outcomes.
• Expertise in data architecture, modelling, metadata, master data, data quality, governance, privacy, cyber security and assurance requirements.
• Strong stakeholder, financial, commercial, supplier and people leadership experience.
• Experience overseeing cloud data platforms, preferably Snowflake.

Responsibilities

• Translate the approved data and BI strategy into roadmaps, delivery plans and investment recommendations.
• Provide technical advice on data priorities, risks and capacity.
• Manage enterprise data platforms, data warehouse capabilities and analytics services.
• Develop service standards for data availability, reliability, security, cost, support and lifecycle management.
• Develop and enable trusted self-service analytics and reporting capabilities across the organisation.
• Ensure analytics and AI solutions are built on governed, trusted and appropriately secured enterprise data.
• Collaborate with business teams to identify opportunities where data, analytics and AI can improve decision-making and operational outcomes.
