Job summary

Aware Super is seeking an experienced Data Lead to define and deliver the end-to-end data strategy for a major Workday implementation. You will lead the technical data stream across architecture, data modelling, migration, integration and governance.

You will work with business leaders, architects and partners to ensure data is accurate, secure and scalable while align­ing with the broader technology strategy. This role demands strong stakeholder management and practical data leadership.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in software engineering, technology or related discipline.
• Significant experience in data architecture, migration or transformation initiatives.
• Workday implementation experience would be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Define the data architecture vision for Workday and its connections with other systems.
• Design data models for Workday HCM, Payroll, Finance, reporting and analytics.
• Lead legacy data migration planning including mapping, transformation and validation.
• Guide development of ETL solutions to migrate data into Workday.
• Establish data standards, governance, validation rules and stewardship processes.
• Partner with integration teams to design secure, efficient data flows.
• Support Workday Prism and external BI solutions with data architecture.
• Provide hands-on data mapping, quality checks and troubleshooting.

Your New Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Lead to define and deliver the end-to-end data strategy for a major Workday implementation. You will lead the technical data stream across architecture, data modelling, migration, integration and governance. Working closely with business leaders, architects, technology teams and implementation partners, you will ensure data is accurate, secure, scalable and aligned with the organisation's broader technology strategy.

What you'll do:

• Define the data architecture vision for Workday and its connection with other enterprise systems.
• Design logical and physical data models supporting Workday HCM, Payroll, Finance, reporting and analytics.
• Lead the planning and execution of legacy data migration, including mapping, transformation, reconciliation and validation.
• Guide the development of ETL solutions required to migrate data from legacy platforms into Workday.
• Establish data standards, governance frameworks, validation rules and stewardship processes.
• Partner with integration teams to design secure, efficient and reliable data flows.
• Ensure the data architecture supports Workday Prism and external business intelligence solutions.
• Provide hands-on support with complex data mapping, quality, validation and troubleshooting.
• Maintain clear documentation covering data models, architectural patterns and governance standards.
• Collaborate with product owners, platform leads, architects, business stakeholders, information security teams and external implementation partners.

How do you exceed our expectations?

• Significant experience leading complex data architecture, migration or transformation initiatives.
• Strong data modelling, integration, ETL and data-governance capability.
• Experience leading a technical data stream within a large enterprise implementation.
• Workday implementation experience would be highly regarded.
• Exposure to Workday HCM, Payroll, Finance, Prism or related reporting environments would be advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise systems, integration patterns and technical architecture.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to translate business requirements into clear data, application and operational solutions.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and documentation skills.
• Experience within superannuation, wealth management or financial services would be beneficial.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in software engineering, technology or a related discipline.
