Job summary

Macquarie Bank Limited is seeking a People & Culture Data Governance Specialist to embed governance across workforce data products and reporting. You will collaborate with data owners, product teams and technology partners to ensure data quality, controls and enterprise compliance.

You will provide oversight across the data lifecycle from source systems to analytics, enabling responsible use of data and emerging AI capabilities while supporting business outcomes and innovation.

The People and Culture Workforce Insights team enables better decision-making through trusted workforce data, insights and governance. As a People & Culture Data Governance Specialist, you will help embed data governance and data management practices across People and Culture. Working closely with data owners, product teams and technology partners, you will support the implementation of governance standards, review controls and evidence, and help ensure workforce data products and critical data uses meet enterprise requirements. You will provide independent oversight and practical guidance across the data lifecycle, from source systems through to reporting and analytics. Your work will support the consistent application of governance frameworks, strengthen data quality and controls, and enable the responsible use of data and emerging artificial intelligence capabilities.

• Experience in data governance, data management, data risk, data quality, data analysis or a related discipline, with the ability to apply governance practices in a practical business environment
• Knowledge of data governance platforms such as Collibra, including data ownership, business glossaries, metadata management and data lineage concepts
• Understanding of end-to-end data flows and modern data environments, including source systems, cloud-based data platforms, data transformation processes, data warehouses and reporting solutions
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across business and technology teams, identify gaps, and provide constructive challenge while maintaining positive working relationships
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and a continuous improvement mindset. Experience delivering guidance, training or awareness activities is advantageous, as is knowledge of SQL, cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, automation or people data environments.
