Job summary

ALDI Stores in Sydney seeks a Data Governance Analyst in our National Data Analytics Office, based in Minchinbury. This permanent full-time role supports enterprise-wide data management, data quality, and AI governance to enable trusted decision-making across the business.

You will design scalable governance approaches, define ownership, controls, metadata, and lineage for Databricks pipelines and data products, and collaborate with Data Engineering, Architecture and Product Owners.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to develop governance solutions for complex problems and influence senior business and technical stakeholders.
• Significant experience applying data management and governance expertise to complex environments.
• Advanced SQL capability and strong knowledge of Databricks or comparable modern data platforms.
• Broad knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK disciplines and their application across the data lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of data architecture, ingestion, transformation, data quality, metadata, and lineage.

Responsibilities

• Analyse governance challenges across business processes, source systems, and data consumption to recommend governance responses.
• Design scalable data quality and governance approaches, including ownership, monitoring, and remediation.
• Define governance expectations for data acquisition and transformation in pipelines and data products.
• Establish metadata, lineage, and discoverability approaches using Databricks and Unity Catalog.
• Apply DAMA-DMBOK disciplines to shape governance standards and solutions for initiatives.
• Provide governance SME support to Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Product Owners and senior stakeholders.
• Shape responses to AI governance, data protection, and international data management initiatives.
