Job summary

Origin Energy is seeking an Optimisation Specialist to join the Business Support team. The role drives data-driven improvements, oversees BI reporting, and leads cost and efficiency projects across embedded networks.

You’ll transform data into actionable insights that reduce waste and maximise value for clients. You’ll collaborate across functions, maintain Power BI dashboards, and apply AI tools to enhance reporting and processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in embedded network management, optimisation or a related analytical environment.
• Strong analytical skills and confidence working with complex data sets.
• Experience using Power BI or Tableau, along with tools such as Excel and SQL.
• Experience using Power Apps, Power Automate or AI tools to improve reporting and processes.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and project delivery skills.
• Knowledge of the energy industry, regulatory frameworks and embedded networks.
• A degree in engineering, mathematics, finance, data science or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement optimisation strategies for client embedded networks.
• Analyse performance data, identify trends and recommend improvements.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver optimisation and business intelligence projects.
• Own and maintain Power BI reporting, automation and optimisation tools.
• Lead annual price change and budget forecasting projects.
• Prepare clear client and management reporting, including forecasts and sustainability insights.
• Resolve complex operational issues and support billing, data quality and compliance activities.
