Job summary

Securitas Australia is seeking a Data Centre Security Officer- NV1 for casual shift work in NSW. You will be the first point of contact for visitors and contractors, manage access control, monitor alarms and CCTV, and respond to emergencies with First Aid when required.

You will work a 12-hour shift pattern on a rotating roster, with emphasis on safety and customer service. Ideal candidates are Australian citizens with NV1 clearance, hold a Class 1A security license, and have strong

Qualifications

• Must hold AGSVA NV1 clearance.
• Australian citizen with full working rights in NSW.
• Hold a valid Security License (Class 1A or equivalent).
• Experience using IT systems for security access and control.
• Excellent communication and observational skills.
• Strong customer service and multi-tasking abilities.
• Conflict resolution and negotiation skills; intermediate PC skills (MS Suite).
• Experience with reporting, site patrols, and two-way radio communication.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring only authorized personnel enter restricted areas and maintaining a secure environment.
• Monitoring security systems, alarms, duress alarms, and portal access; responding promptly to incidents.
• Serving as first responder to emergencies and providing First Aid until assistance arrives.

• Writing detailed shift reports and providing clear handovers for continuity.

About the Role

We are excited to partner with an ASX 100-listed technology company, offering innovative data centre outsourcing solutions. Our security team is essential in maintaining data integrity and providing exceptional customer service as the first point of contact for visitors and contractors.

This is a casual position with 12-hour shifts rotating roster.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring only authorized personnel enter and exit restricted areas, maintaining a secure environment.
• Staying vigilant while monitoring security systems, including Class 5 alarms, duress alarms, and portal resets, responding promptly to any incidents.
• Acting as the first responder to emergencies, administering First Aid when required, and managing the situation until further assistance arrives.
• Performing on-foot and CCTV patrols of assigned areas, identifying and addressing potential hazards to ensure ongoing security.
• Writing detailed shift reports and providing clear handovers for smooth operations and continuity.

What We’re Looking For:

• Must have AGSVA NV1 Clearance.
• Experience using IT systems for security access and control
• Must be an Australian Citizen with full working rights in the respective state
• Hold a valid Security License (Class 1A or equivalent)
• Excellent communication and observational skills
• Strong customer service experience with multi-tasking abilities
• Conflict resolution, negotiation skills, and intermediate PC skills (MS Suite)
• Exceptional customer service standards, greeting visitors and assisting as needed
• Compliance with company policies and procedures
• Experience in report writing, site patrol duties, and communication via two-way radio
• Must be punctual, responsible, and lead by example, supporting a safety and compliance culture
