Job summary

Jemena in Melbourne is seeking a Senior Data Centre Network Planning Engineer to lead planning and development of the data centre network, ensuring high-capacity, reliable electricity supply for customers while aligning with long-term strategy.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, perform load forecasting, network modelling, and engage with regulators and other DNSPs to deliver capacity upgrades that support growing data centre demand.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering with eligibility for Engineers Australia.
• At least 7 years in the electricity supply industry, focusing on network capacity planning.
• Strong understanding of distribution networks, zone substations, and joint planning processes.
• Experience with PSSE, load flow analysis, and fault level studies.

Responsibilities

• Network Development: Prepare load forecasting, staging plans, and network modelling to guide network augmentation and capacity upgrades.
• Collaborative Capacity Planning: Work with other DNSPs and AEMO to progress solutions meeting customer demand.
• Empowering Projects: Develop technical scopes for connecting data centres to the network and support delivery from design to commissioning.
• Thoughtful Leadership: Align engineering decisions with Jemena’s commercial, operational, and environmental objectives.
