Job summary

Goodman is seeking a Design Manager for data centres to lead the design management process across critical services and coordinate interfaces with development, delivery, operations and commissioning. You will drive design quality, governance and technical compliance on complex projects in a fast-moving environment.

The role requires strong leadership across multidisciplinary teams, deep knowledge of data centre service design, and the ability to translate complex issues into actionable

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of data centre building services design across MEP, hydraulics, fire protection and controls.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services or related Engineering discipline; postgraduate qualification advantageous.
• Strong understanding of hyperscale and colocation services design requirements and reliability concepts.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary consultants and vendors.
• Knowledge of BIM coordination and construction interface management.
• Experience with RFQ/RFP processes and vendor negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design management process across mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, fire and integrated systems.
• Coordinate design interfaces across development, delivery, operations and commissioning.
• Drive design quality, governance and technical compliance.
• Translate complex services issues into clear recommendations.
• Support procurement, scope definition, value optimisation and commercial outcomes.
• Ensure design intent is carried through to commissioning, handover and operational readiness.
