Job summary

STACK Infrastructure in Melbourne is seeking a Critical Operations Technician to provide 24/7 coverage for data centre infrastructure, including power, cooling and life-safety systems. The role involves hands-on operational maintenance, system monitoring, and first‑response troubleshooting to uphold STACK’s uptime commitments.

You will monitor BMS/EPMS and CMMS systems, perform structured rounds, and coordinate with licenced contractors.

Qualifications

2-3 years’ experience in critical environments such as data centres or similar operational settings.
Hands-on maintenance and first-level rectification within authorised limits.
Experience using BMS/EPMS and CMMS/workflow tools to manage alarms and logs.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation (single-line diagrams, O&M manuals).

Responsibilities

Maintain 24×7×365 shift coverage to ensure safe operation of critical infrastructure.
Operate and monitor electrical/mechanical systems (UPS, generators, chillers, pumps) within approved procedures.
Perform inspections, diagnostics, and minor adjustments; escalate as required.
Respond to alarms and incidents; assist containment, investigation, and restoration.
Maintain shift logs, CMMS records, and precise handover notes.
