Job summary

STACK Infrastructure APAC is seeking a Senior Critical Operations Technician to lead on-shift controls of electrical, mechanical, cooling and life-safety systems in a hyperscale data centre environment. The role emphasises safe operation, first-response actions and disciplined troubleshooting to maintain STACK's 100% uptime commitment.

You will mentor junior technicians, maintain accurate documentation, and coordinate with vendors while upholding strict permit-to-work and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• Experience in critical environments such as data centres or similar facilities.
• Hands-on experience with UPS, generators, switchgear, PDUs/PMMs, ATS/STS, CRAC/CRAH, chilled water systems and related controls.
• Experience using BMS/EPMS and CMMS/workflow tools for monitoring and documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, technical drawings and OEM documentation.

Responsibilities

• Support the 100% uptime objective through disciplined operational control and proactive monitoring.
• Maintain real-time awareness of plant condition via BMS/EPMS, alarms and inspections, taking timely actions.
• Provide senior technical support to shift technicians, guiding prioritisation and execution quality.
• Operate and monitor critical electrical/mechanical systems within approved procedures.
• Perform structured diagnostics on abnormal conditions and suggest next steps.
• Support incident response with containment actions and clear technical communication.
• Conduct enhanced rounds focusing on thermal, capacity, vibration/noise, and set-point verification.
• Identify trends and reliability concerns and provide prevention recommendations.
• Manage shift work with permit-to-work, isolations/LOTO, and vendor access.
• Coordinate vendor activities and ensure safe return-to-service verification.
• Validate operational readiness after maintenance and configuration changes.
• Improve shift logs, event notes, CMMS entries and handovers for clarity and traceability.
• Raise recurring defects and improvements through appropriate channels.
