Job summary

CBRE Data Center Solutions is hiring an Apprentice to assist the team with preventive maintenance and repairs inside a Data Center. This hands-on role provides foundational knowledge while you work under a platform team.

You will perform site inspections, help keep safe environmental conditions, and participate in training to grow into a Trades Technician within the data center environment in Melbourne.

Qualifications

• Completed Year 10/Year 12 and currently enrolled in a 3rd or 4th year college program or technical school.
• Australian Citizen with NV1 vetting or detailed Background Check process.
• Currently completing Certificate III Electrotechnology Electrical /Air conditioning & Refrigeration.
• Ability to meet physical requirements including stooping, standing, lifting 50 lbs or more.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities; basic math skills and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily site inspections of Mechanical & Electrical systems and equipment.
• Support environmental conditions to maintain a safe work environment.
• Observe and assist with emergency repairs from Building Management System alarms.
• Take meter readings from UPS, PDUs during walkthroughs.
• Participate in training to complete job-related responsibilities.
• Follow procedures for repetitive tasks and maintain maintenance records.
• Assist in ensuring subcontractor performance meets Master Service Agreement requirements.
• Develop basic understanding of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
