Job summary

CBRE Data Center Solutions is seeking a Data Center Apprentice to assist in preventive maintenance and repairs at our Derrimut, Victoria facility. You will gain hands-on experience in data center operations and M&E systems under mentor guidance.

The role involves assisting with site inspections, environment controls, emergency responses, and documentation. Shifts include 12-hour rosters; Australians with basic MS Office skills and a safety-focused mindset are preferred.

Qualifications

• Completed Year 10/Year 12 and currently enrolled in a 3rd or 4th year college program or TAFE/RMIT/Polytechnic
• Australian Citizen with ability to pass NV1 vetting or background check
• Currently completing Certificate III Electrotechnology Electrical / Air Conditioning & Refrigeration or Electrical
• Ability to meet physical requirements including lifting heavy loads
• Willingness to work shifts including weekends/holidays
• Basic math and MS Office familiarity

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily site inspections of all Mechanical & Electrical systems and equipment
• Support environmental conditions to maintain a safe work environment
• Observe and assist during emergency repairs in response to BMS alarms
• Take meter readings from UPS, PDU, and utilities during walkthroughs
• Participate in required training to complete job responsibilities
• Maintain maintenance records and documentation
• Support subcontractor performance per the Master Service Agreement
• Develop basic understanding of Mechanical and Electrical troubleshooting
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
