Job summary

EY is seeking a QA lead for a significant Data & Analytics program in Australia, based in Melbourne or Sydney with a hybrid arrangement. You will provide strategic leadership, governance and oversight for testing across data platforms, pipelines, BI and regulatory reporting for an insurance client.

You will collaborate with program leadership, data engineers, governance, product owners and stakeholders to ensure data assets meet accuracy, completeness, integrity and performance before release.

Qualifications

• Experience in delivering data & analytics testing in insurance programs.
• Proven ability to design and implement test strategies for ETL and data pipelines.
• Strong SQL and Python for data validation and automation.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure).
• Experience with BI tools (Power BI/Tableau/Cognos).
• Familiarity with data governance, metadata, lineage and regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain Quality and Test Strategy across ETL, DWH, BI, analytics and cloud data services.
• Lead planning, design, execution and reporting for functional, integration, regression, automation and performance testing.
• Oversee end-to-end validation of data pipelines, transformations, models and APIs.
• Establish data-quality controls including profiling, reconciliation, anomaly detection and cleansing.
• Partner with data governance to embed QA across metadata and lineage.
• Coordinate test readiness across environments, data, tooling and licences.
• Design test cases and automation scripts and identify automation opportunities.
• Manage test execution, defects and triage; support resolution with delivery teams.
• Support regulatory reporting readiness with quality gates and test evidence.
• Prepare test reports, metrics and status updates; support sign-off and closure.
• Lead distributed testing teams and drive continuous improvement.
