Job summary

Mane Consulting is seeking a technically astute Data Analyst for a Government Organisation in Australia. You will deliver high-quality data analysis, interpretation and reporting to support service delivery goals and comply with reforms and legislative requirements.

Key activities include data extraction, dashboard development, governance of data quality, and collaboration across business and technical teams to drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL for data extraction, validation and profiling.
• Experience building dashboards in Power BI or similar.
• Advanced Excel for analysis and modelling.
• Ability to document functional and technical requirements.
• Experience with project management tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead data extraction, analysis and reporting to support planning, performance and outcomes.
• Perform data mining and profiling to improve service delivery and drive continuous improvement.
• Develop performance measures, tools and governance processes to strengthen systems and workflows.
• Maintain core data sets and address data quality issues to ensure reliable reporting.
• Provide technical guidance and capability uplift to teams using data for decision making.
• Support performance monitoring and reporting governance with clear advice and insights.
• Work collaboratively with team members and contribute to shared analytical development.

Skills & Experience Required

• Strong technical analysis capability, including SQL for data extraction, validation and profiling.
• Experience building dashboards and reports using Power BI (or similar BI tools).
• Advanced Excel skills for analysis, modelling and data interpretation.
• Demonstrated experience documenting functional and technical requirements.
• Experience with project management tools
• Experience Project Scheduling an adavantage
• Understanding of data structures, data governance and system integrations.
• Ability to work across both business and technical teams, translating complex concepts clearly.
• Experience in government, regulated environments or large enterprise programs (highly regarded).
