Darebin City Council seeks a Data Engineer to design, build and maintain the analytics platform and pipelines as the first dedicated resource.
You will craft data models, curate datasets, and automate workflows using the Microsoft stack (Fabric, Power BI, SSRS) in line with the ERP transformation program. You will enable clear insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Darebin is embarking on an exciting transformation journey to use data and analytics more effectively to drive improved decision-making. This role is crucial in setting up, designing, and developing the analytics platform.
We are looking for a Data Engineer to design, architect, and build our first-ever enterprise data management platform from the absolute ground up. This isn't a maintenance gig. There is no legacy technical debt to slow you down, no "spaghetti code" to untangle, and no pre-existing blueprints to restrict your creativity. You are employee number one for this initiative, meaning you get to choose to build the solution and establish the data culture for our organisation.
We're building Darebin's future - and we're looking for great people to join us.
As part of our organisational redesign, we're introducing new roles that support Darebin's future focus and priorities.
The role is to design, develop, and maintain analytics platform, data engineering pipelines, ETL, and basic reporting using the Microsoft stack (Fabric, Power BI, SSRS) alongside the new ERP transformation program.
Set out the skills, experience and values we are looking for.
Darebin City Council is committed to equity, diversity and inclusion. We proudly serve one of the most diverse communities in Victoria, and we know that a diverse workforce strengthens our ability to deliver meaningful outcomes.
