Are you a skilled Data Analyst passionate about making a difference in Australian rural healthcare?

The Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) is at the forefront of improving healthcare for rural, remote, and First Nations communities across Australia. We believe that robust data and insightful analysis are critical to understanding challenges, identifying opportunities, and ultimately delivering equitable and high-quality health services where they are needed most.

We are seeking a talented and committed Data Analyst to join our growing team. In this pivotal role, you will transform complex data into actionable insights that drive business decisions. As a Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in driving business performance by analysing large, complex datasets, identifying key trends, and providing actionable insights to stakeholders across the organisation. You will work with a variety of data sources, including trainee assessment and placement data, survey data, membership and transaction data, and leverage your analytical skills to solve challenging business problems. You will have a chance to contribute to high-impact projects, research, and play an important role in developing our data strategy. The position would suit someone with strong analytical capabilities and excellent communication skills to deliver meaningful insights to stakeholders across the organisation.

Your duties will include
  • Data Analysis & Insight Generation: Analyse large-scale datasets from various sources using SQL and R (or similar programming languages) to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities that drive business growth and improve the experience of our members and stakeholders.
  • Reporting & Dashboard Development: Develop and maintain regular reporting systems and interactive dashboards using Power BI and Quarto/R Markdown to monitor business performance and key metrics.
  • Data Request Fulfilment: Respond to internal and external data requests, ensuring timely delivery of data insights across the College while maintaining regular reporting duties.
  • Collaboration & Solutions: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to understand their diverse data needs and develop solutions that support their specific business objectives.
  • Visualisation & Communication: Create clear and compelling visualisations to communicate complex findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
To be successful in this role you must have:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in a data-driven role.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Proficiency in R programming. Strong Python (or similar) programmers with a willingness to quickly learn R are also encouraged to apply.
  • Analytical Acumen: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail and a passion for uncovering insights from data.
  • Communication & Visualisation: Demonstrated ability to translate complex analyses into clear, actionable insights using effective visualisations in programs like Power BI.
  • Collaboration & Independence: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with stakeholders across different departments, while also capable of working independently and managing multiple priorities.
  • Data Security Understanding: A solid understanding of data security principles, including access control, confidentiality, and anonymisation.
  • Eligibility to Work: Applicants must have the right to live and work in Australia.
