Job summary

Aurizon is seeking qualified Locomotive Drivers to join the Berrimah depot in Darwin. These roles involve operating locomotives across our rail network, with a focus on safety and efficiency. Not FIFO/DIDO, with sign-on incentive and relocation support available for permanent appointments.

Rostered shifts are 24/7, with leave and overtime provisions as outlined in the enterprise agreement. Responsibilities include mainline operations, shunting, marshalling, brake testing, and ensuring on-time

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted driver's licence.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment checks including driving history and CAT 1 Rail medical.
• All Freight Train Driver qualifications will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Operate locomotives on mainline, shunting and marshalling.
• Examine and certify trains as ready for departure.
• Adhere to Aurizon safety and operational standards and procedures.
• Maintain a high level of on-time running.
• Prepare and conduct brake testing on locomotives.
• Provide high-quality customer service to meet business objectives.
