Job summary

Southern Rural Water is seeking a Multi Skilled Storage Operator to join our Headworks team in the East. This is a hands‑on, field-based role maintaining assets and ensuring safe, reliable water infrastructure.

You will support the Dam Safety Program through inspections, site maintenance, and operating mechanical equipment, with duties spanning groundskeeping and incidental facilities upkeep. The role includes weekend rosters and standby duties to meet operational needs.

Qualifications

• Experience operating and maintaining mechanical equipment.
• Strong problem solving skills and practical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor dam performance and conduct inspections as part of the Dam Safety Program.
• Maintain sites and recreational facilities, and operate/repair mechanical equipment.
• Carry out general groundskeeping and landscaping duties.
• Support incident management at headworks sites, including flood routing operations.
