Job summary

SMEC Services Pty Limited is seeking an experienced Construction Manager - Dams for a minimum two-year, on-site role in the Toowoomba region of Queensland. The site lead design engineer will oversee dam improvement works, coordinating with design partners and construction teams.

The role requires a civil/geotechnical/dams or structural engineering degree and extensive on-site experience to manage embankment dam crest raising, spillway work, and related tasks on a major dam project in Queensland.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in embankment dam and related structures, construction/design.
• Degree in Civil/Geotechnical/Dams, Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• Previous site experience is essential.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing completed works and confirming they are delivered in accordance with design intent and specifications.
• Providing responses to design queries from the Contractor with support from the site and head office teams.
• Working collaboratively with the Contractor to ensure the design is fully implemented on site.
• Supporting and assisting the Contractor in addressing construction methods where design considerations are involved.
