Job summary

Randstad Defence seeks a skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to strengthen security infrastructure and deliver robust ICT systems for critical defence initiatives in Sydney. This permanent full-time role offers flexible working arrangements and generous employee benefits.

You will design secure architectures, draft ICT security policies, and support accreditation to achieve Authority to Operate. The role requires 5+ years in cybersecurity, Australian defence experience, and strong DevSecOps skills.

Qualifications

• Degree or relevant qualifications in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Software Engineering, ICT Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of professional background as a Cybersecurity Engineer.
• Proven experience contributing to Australian defence and government projects.
• Background in DevSecOps, penetration testing, and software testing is highly desirable.
• Australian citizen with Baseline Security Clearance or higher.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and building secure hardware and software architectures tailored to defence specifications.
• Support the drafting of ICT security policies and procedures aligned with corporate and defence regulatory standards.
• Help prepare accreditation plans, SOPs, and documentation to secure Authority to Operate (ATO) for company-managed systems.
• Identify vulnerabilities and security threats across systems, applying necessary security patches.
• Perform or support penetration testing and comprehensive evaluation activities to validate ICT systems.
• Log risks discovered during security assessments and collaborate with cross-functional ICT team members on mitigation strategies.

In partnership with a prominent global defence organisation, Randstad Defence is seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Engineer. The successful candidate will focus on strengthening cybersecurity infrastructure and delivering robust Information and Communications Technology (ICT) systems and solutions for critical defence initiatives.

About You

• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CompTIA Security+, networking credentials, or equivalent certifications.
• Background in DevSecOps, penetration testing, and software testing is highly desirable.

The candidates must be an Australian citizen and must have a Baseline Security Clearance and above.
