Job summary

Western Sydney University seeks a Cyber Security Engineering Manager to lead the strategic uplift of cyber security engineering across its hybrid cloud and on‑prem platforms. You will guide the design, build, integration, automation, and operation of enterprise security controls to meet resilience and compliance targets.

You will mature IAM/PAM, EDR/XDR, SIEM/SOAR, WAF/CDN, DLP/CASB, and more, embedding secure‑by‑design principles and MITRE ATT&CK aligned practices while guiding SOC/IR

Qualifications

• Significant experience in cyber security engineering and platform operations within complex, hybrid environments.
• Ability to lead high‑performing engineering teams with clear RACI alignment.
• Strong capability in designing, automating, and operating enterprise‑grade controls such as SIEM, SOAR, EDR, IAM, WAF, and cloud-native platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead uplift of cyber security engineering across hybrid cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Oversee design, build, integration, automation, and operation of enterprise security controls.
• Develop specialist cyber engineers and collaborate with SOC and Incident Response.
