Job summary

5GN Group seeks a Cyber Security Consultant to deliver cyber security, risk and compliance engagements for clients. You will work alongside senior professionals from assessment through remediation and security improvements.

This role focuses on frameworks like ISO 27001, Essential Eight and NIST, with collaboration across client teams and internal consultants. Location can be Canberra-based with broader Australia considerations.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years' experience in cyber security, IT risk, governance, risk and compliance (GRC), or a related role.
• Foundational knowledge of frameworks such as ISO 27001, Essential Eight and/or NIST.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Good written communication and documentation skills.
• Confidence working collaboratively with different stakeholders.
• An interest in continuing to develop your cyber security and consulting capability.
• Experience in a consulting or government environment would be highly regarded.
• A current NV1 security clearance or higher is required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Help develop security policies, procedures, risk registers and other client documentation.
• Contribute to client reports, recommendations and presentations.

We’re looking for a Cyber Security Consultant to join our team and support the delivery of cyber security, risk and compliance engagements for our clients.

This is a great opportunity for someone in cyber security, IT risk or a related field who is looking to broaden their consulting experience and build deeper expertise across security frameworks, risk assessments and compliance.
