Job summary

Client 1 in Canberra is seeking a Cyber Security Assurance Specialist to oversee classified IT systems as the appointed ISSO, ensuring accreditation compliance and security posture across government frameworks.

You will perform ISSO duties, support security authorisation, manage configurations, conduct risk management and vulnerability assessments, and advise on cyber accreditation matters. A strong background in IT security with PS readiness is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT or Cyber Security.
  • 6+ years in system administration and cyber security.
  • Familiarity with accreditation frameworks: DISP, DSPF, ISM, NIST.
  • Strong risk management and incident response planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Description

As the Cyber Security Assurance Specialist, you will act as the appointed Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) overseeing compliance, administration and security posture of classified IT systems in accordance with Government accreditation frameworks.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform ISSO duties to maintain compliance and technical security posture of assigned classified IT systems/networks.
  • Support system security authorisation and maintain related documentation.
  • Manage system hardware/software specification, procurement and configuration.
  • Oversee user administration and security education training and awareness (SETA).

Education/Certifications Required

  • Relevant industry certifications highly desirable.

  • Minimum 6+ years' experience in system administration and cyber security.
  • Strong understanding of IT security issues and practices.
  • Familiarity with accreditation frameworks: DISP, DSPF, ISM, NIST.
  • Skills in risk management, incident response planning, and continuous monitoring.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
