Reo Recruitment seeks a seasoned security architect to shape how cyber protection is built into enterprise IT and OT platforms. You will translate risk into practical architectural guidance for technical teams and influence decisions across a dispersed environment.
You will champion repeatable security patterns, challenge designs with gaps, and guide investments toward strong safeguards. A senior, business‑savvy approach is essential for cross‑team collaboration in a hybrid Sydney setting.
You will be responsible for the way cyber security is considered when technology is designed, changed or introduced across a complex organisation. The remit spans enterprise platforms and operational technology, where reliable systems are essential. Working within the enterprise architecture function, you will turn security expectations into practical architectural guidance that technical teams can use when making decisions.
The work is varied: you might challenge a proposed solution, help resolve a control trade-off or take part in an architecture forum considering a major investment. You will collaborate with solution and enterprise architects, infrastructure and cyber specialists, plus stakeholders responsible for operational systems.
Beyond individual projects, your contribution will be to make security design more consistent, scalable and useful to the business. This means creating shared approaches that reduce uncertainty, raising the quality of architectural decisions and helping future initiatives account for cyber risk early. You will have scope to influence technical direction across a dispersed operating environment, including teams outside the head office.
You have hands‑on experience designing and implementing protections for both enterprise IT and OT environments. Your work shows an ability to make architectural decisions from real security risks, understand governance expectations and select controls suited to the technology involved. You can move confidently between high‑level direction and the detail needed to guide an implementable design.
You communicate with clarity and credibility, whether the audience is a specialist engineer, an enterprise architect or a business leader. You can test assumptions, explain competing priorities and influence decisions without relying on formal authority. You understand that operational requirements and cyber controls need to work together, and you are comfortable finding solutions that reflect both.
You will suit an environment where the architecture function is developing and where practical judgement matters as much as technical depth. Experience in technology‑heavy operational settings is welcome, as is a background in enterprise architecture, solution architecture or cyber leadership. A relevant qualification in cyber security, IT or a related field is required. GICSP, IEC 62443‑related credentials, TOGAF or SABSA would be advantageous, rather than essential.
This is an established organisation with technology needs that extend beyond a traditional office environment. The role provides access to varied systems, geographically dispersed stakeholders and decisions where cyber architecture has a direct effect on how technology is operated and changed.
