Job summary

TheDriveGroup in Sydney is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Architect to shape the security of its technology environment. You will influence security architecture across applications, cloud, infrastructure and enterprise platforms, working with Architecture, Engineering, Cyber Security and Risk teams.

You will review designs, define security standards and ensure controls are practical, scalable and aligned with business requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in Cyber Security Architecture within complex enterprise environments.
• Broad technical understanding across cloud security, application security, infrastructure, identity and enterprise security controls.
• Experience reviewing solution designs and providing security architecture recommendations.
• Strong understanding of secure-by-design principles, threat modelling and technology risk management.
• Knowledge of security frameworks including NIST, ISO 27001 and ASD Essential Eight.
• Experience developing security architecture patterns, standards and technical guardrails.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence Architects, Engineers and senior business stakeholders.
• Ability to balance security requirements with delivery timelines, operational needs and business objectives.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM or cloud/security architecture qualifications would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide security architecture guidance across applications, cloud, infrastructure, identity and data environments.
• Review solution designs, architecture documentation and technology changes to identify security risks.
• Define and improve security architecture patterns, technical standards and secure-by-design principles.
• Work closely with Enterprise Architects, Engineers and Technology teams to embed security into solution design.
• Assess security controls, identify vulnerabilities and recommend practical improvements.
• Support technology risk assessments, security exceptions and remediation decisions.
• Translate technical security risks into clear recommendations for business and technology stakeholders.
• Contribute to architecture governance, security standards and continuous improvement initiatives.

About the opportunity

We're working with a large enterprise organisation looking for an experienced Cyber Security Architect to help shape the security of its technology environment.

This is an opportunity to influence how security is designed into applications, cloud services, infrastructure and enterprise platforms, working closely with Architecture, Engineering, Cyber Security and Risk teams.

You'll be responsible for reviewing technical designs, defining security architecture standards and ensuring security controls are practical, scalable and aligned with business requirements.

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical security knowledge with excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and can confidently influence architecture decisions across a complex organisation.
