Qualifications

• 5+ years in Cyber Security Engineering, Architecture, Consulting or Solution Design.

Job Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Design & Deploy Engineer / Architect to join a high-performing cyber security team delivering secure technology solutions across complex enterprise environments. This role combines hands‑on engineering expertise with security architecture capability, providing the opportunity to design, deploy, and optimise cyber security solutions across cloud, hybrid, and on‑premises environments.

Working closely with customers, project teams, architects, and operational stakeholders, you will play a key role in embedding secure‑by‑design principles throughout the solution lifecycle. What will you be doing?

• Design and architect secure cyber security solutions across cloud, hybrid, and on‑premises environments
• Develop high‑level and low‑level security designs, implementation plans, and deployment strategies
• Lead the deployment, integration, configuration, and optimisation of security technologies
• Provide expert security architecture and engineering advice to stakeholders and project teams
• Conduct security architecture reviews, threat assessments, gap analyses, and design workshops
• Ensure solutions align with security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
• Support projects through requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, transition, and operational handover
• Produce and maintain architecture artefacts, implementation guides, and security documentation
• Investigate emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and technology trends to improve security outcomes
• Support incident investigations, remediation activities, and root cause analysis where required
• Collaborate with teams to embed Secure‑by‑Design and DevSecOps principles
• Contribute technical expertise to proposals, solution development activities, and assurance reviews

Skills and experience required to succeed in this role?

• 5+ years' experience in Cyber Security Engineering, Security Architecture, Security Consulting, or Solution Design roles
• Demonstrated experience designing and deploying enterprise security solutions across complex environments
• Strong understanding of cyber security architecture principles, defence-in-depth strategies, and secure design methodologies
• Experience implementing and supporting security technologies across:
  • Identity & Access Management (IAM)
  • SIEM and Security Monitoring platforms
  • Endpoint Security solutions
  • Network Security technologies
  • Vulnerability Management platforms
  • Cloud Security technologies
  • Data Protection and Encryption solutions
• Experience developing architecture artefacts, security assessments, and technical design documentation
• Strong stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation, and consulting skills
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities
• Experience delivering solutions within project and operational environments

Highly Regarded

• Experience with Microsoft Defender Suite, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365 Security, and Azure Security Services
• Knowledge of Essential Eight, ISM, PSPF, ISO 27001, NIST Cyber Security Framework, and CIS Controls
• Experience working within government, defence, critical infrastructure, or highly regulated industries
• Experience supporting security audits, compliance activities, and regulatory reviews
• Knowledge of cloud security architecture and Microsoft security platforms
• ITIL Foundation certification or experience working within IT Service Management environments
• Experience applying Secure‑by‑Design and DevSecOps practices

Clearance required?

• Australian Citizenship is mandatory
• Current NV2 Security Clearance required
