Barwon Water is seeking a Cyber Security Architect to shape and protect its technology environment across IT, OT, and IoT platforms in a hybrid work setting. You will lead security architecture, embed secure-by-design practices, and guide risk management and governance activities.

You will collaborate with engineers, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, resilient solutions and advance monitoring and incident response capabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in cyber security and security architecture.
• Exposure to IT, cloud, OT and IoT environments.
• Knowledge of security frameworks including NIST CSF, ASD Essential Eight, IEC 62443.
• Strong understanding of identity and access management.
• Experience participating in architecture governance and design reviews.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Define and maintain cyber security architecture standards, patterns and secure-by-design principles across enterprise, cloud, OT and IoT environments.
• Lead security reviews and provide architectural guidance for projects, technology investments and third-party solutions.
• Ensure appropriate security controls, monitoring, logging and detection capabilities are embedded across Barwon Water's technology landscape.
• Provide technical leadership during cyber security incidents, supporting investigation, response, recovery and continuous improvement activities.
• Identify, assess and manage cyber security risks, ensuring compliance with relevant frameworks, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, project teams and business stakeholders to deliver secure, resilient and scalable technology solutions.
• Contribute to architecture governance, technology roadmaps and strategic initiatives that strengthen organisational security maturity.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-driven security capabilities and automation, while assessing associated cyber security risks and opportunities.

About the Company

We are seeking a Cyber Security Architect to play a pivotal role in shaping and protecting the technology environment that supports Barwon Water's customers, community and critical infrastructure. This is an opportunity to influence security strategy across enterprise IT, Operational Technology (OT), Internet of Things (IoT), cloud platforms and emerging technologies

About the Role

Reporting to the Cyber Security Lead, you will be responsible for defining and guiding Barwon Water's security architecture, ensuring security is embedded into technology solutions by design. Working closely with business architects, delivery teams, vendors, engineers and technology stakeholders, you will provide expert advice on the controls, standards and patterns required to deliver secure and resilient solutions.

You will also help shape the organisation's cyber monitoring and incident response capabilities, providing technical leadership across IT, OT and IoT environments and contributing to architecture governance and risk management activities.

Key responsibilities:

About You

You are a security professional with a passion for architecture, governance and securing critical infrastructure environments. You bring strong technical expertise and can confidently engage with both technical and business stakeholders.

You will ideally have:

• Experience in cyber security, security architecture or enterprise technology.
• Exposure to IT, cloud, OT and/or IoT environments.
• Knowledge of security frameworks including NIST CSF, ASD Essential Eight, SOCI and IEC 62443.
• Strong understanding of identity, access management and security control design.
• Experience participating in architecture governance and design review forums.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• A continuous improvement mindset and interest in emerging technologies, including AI-driven security solutions.
