Contract & Location

• Contract: Initial 12 months with 2×12‑month extension options
• Security Clearance: Minimum NV1 required
• Location: Canberra, ACT (Onsite)

Our Client a leading Government organisation is seeking two experienced Cyber Security Architects to join a highly specialised cyber architecture and assurance function. These roles will play a critical part in ensuring systems are designed and operated in line with Australian and international security standards.

You will provide expert security architecture and assurance advice across enterprise, cloud, infrastructure, and application environments. Working closely with enterprise architects, governance teams, project managers, and ICT delivery teams, you'll help embed security at every stage of system design and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain secure architecture frameworks aligned with government standards (including ISM, PSPF, and NIST).
• Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Provide specialist security advice across ICT initiatives, including cloud, infrastructure, and software development.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, policy requirements, and data protection obligations.
• Support cyber incident response activities and post‑incident remediation.
• Monitor emerging cyber threats and technologies to continuously improve security posture.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in cyber security architecture and secure system design.
• Strong understanding of government cyber security frameworks and standards.
• Experience with cloud security, identity and access management, and/or DevSecOps practices.
• Ability to communicate complex security concepts to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Experience providing security oversight across large or complex IT projects.
• Knowledge of privacy, data protection, and compliance requirements.
• Ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders on strategic security decisions.
