Job summary

Knox City Council is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to protect the Council’s data, infrastructure, applications and platforms. This hands-on technical role will respond to incidents, identify vulnerabilities and drive improvements across Cyber Security posture.

Based at the Knox City Council Civic Centre (Wantirna South), the role offers flexible working arrangements in a full-time permanent capacity, with a salary range of $115,162.08 to $129,157.23 per year plus superannuation.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in cyber security or related discipline with several years' experience.
• Experience with networking, cloud technologies and infrastructure design.
• Experience with enterprise cyber security technologies: endpoint, email, web security, vulnerability management, firewalls, SIEM.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving to assess risks and propose practical solutions.
• Understanding of ASD Essentials, NIST CSF 2.0 and ISO 27001.
• Clear communication and collaboration with technical teams, stakeholders and providers.

Responsibilities

• Protect Council’s data, infrastructure, applications and platforms in a hands-on role.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents and drive improvements.
• Implement effective security controls and manage cyber security risks across project lifecycles.
• Contribute to security audits, compliance monitoring and third-party risk management.
• Build cyber security awareness across Council and support ongoing initiatives.
• Support biometric and policy-based security improvements and incident response readiness.
