Job summary

EvolveX Group in Melbourne is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to protect clients' systems, data and applications. You’ll work with developers, cloud and IT support specialists to assess risks, implement controls and respond to threats.

You’ll perform security assessments, run vulnerability scans, recommend controls, monitor threats, review software security, and advise on data privacy and secure configuration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or higher in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in cyber security or related technical role.
• Strong knowledge of network security, cloud security and data protection.
• Experience with security testing and vulnerability assessment tools.
• Programming or scripting skills such as Python.
• Clear written communication and ability to explain security risks in plain language.
• Postgraduate qualification or research in cyber security or data privacy is highly regarded.
• CCNA certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out security assessments and risk reviews for client systems, networks and cloud environments.
• Run vulnerability scans and application security testing, and report findings.
• Recommend and implement security controls including firewalls, endpoint protection and access management.
• Monitor for security threats and help respond to incidents.
• Review security of software and SaaS platforms, including data storage and protection.
• Advise clients on data privacy, secure configuration and Essential Eight.
• Write and update security policies, procedures and reports.
• Conduct security awareness training for client staff.
• Keep up to date with threats, tools and security practices.
