Job summary

Metcash Limited in Cairns is seeking a hands-on Customer Support Manager to lead outbound warehouse operations. Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will guide loaders, pickers and the administration team to ensure safe, timely and reliable service for customers.

This role requires a minimum of five years in an operational leadership position, a solid understanding of Chain of Responsibility, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• At least five years’ experience in a similar operational leadership role.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Chain of Responsibility requirements.
• Warehousing/ distribution qualification is desirable.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to motivate people and collaborate across stakeholder groups.
• Excellent organisational and time-management capabilities.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with a continuous-improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead the safe and efficient dispatch of outbound customer orders.
• Plan staffing and allocate workloads across outbound operations.
• Partner with transport providers to support timely, cost-effective delivery.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers and operational stakeholders.
• Uphold Chain of Responsibility, OHS, HACCP and manual-handling requirements.
• Identify and implement approved operational improvements.
• Lead, train and support warehouse and administration team members.
• Resolve service issues and escape customer risks to the Branch Manager.
